05: Packing for a my solo trip to Slovakia

Hey fellow travellers,

I thought I'd share with you, some of what I packed to travel solo for my trip to Slovakia.

I think this was my 41st new country to visit as a solo female traveller after I had taken a break from travelling for about 12 months I had popped to Luxembourg the week before and got back into the swing of it again.

Sometimes I find travelling solo can be a little bit daunting but once I start the planning that soon goes, until I land of course - especially if I've travelled to a country where everything from the food to the culture feels completely alien to me, it gives me a sense of being an outsider and I really am there alone but that's also what I love about travelling solo. Do you?

This trip was just a little weekend break, a two day trip with an over night stay, so I decided to strip what I pack right back to an even smaller backpack than what I would usually take on my trips and travelled ultra light!

This is what I took, I've listed a few key things I travelled with on this trip below:

Tote/backpack

(This is actually a backpack I use to carry my work laptop on the daily commute!)

TSA Quart Size Bag Approved for Carry On Travel - One (1) Quart Clear Toiletries, Cosmetic and 3-1-1 Liquids Toiletry Bag - 2 Pack

(I didn't pay £31 for my clear toiletry bags I paid £2 each but they are discontinued on Temu where I purchased them and I can't find them anywhere else but these are the exact same sort -I have never been stopped for these but I have for the ones which have depth to them. Thats why I got these as they are the same dimensions as Security and are flat but still hold a lot more than the disposable one because they don't pop open.)

Squeeze Tubes with Leak-Proof Bottles

4pcs/set New Toothpaste and Facial Cleanser Adapter

(I save other little pots and containers to decant my cosmetics in)

Akt deodorant balm

(I use natural deodorant balm as it saves space and decant it into a 20ml screw lid pot)

10pcs Rectangle Nail Files for Acrylic Nails, 100/180

I cut a large nail file in 1/2 to create a travel size one!

Zam-Buk ointment is a traditional, herbal, and antiseptic balm used to soothe cuts, sores, bruises, burns, rashes, and insect bites, as well as to help with minor muscle aches and sprains. It contains ingredients such as eucalyptus, pine, and thyme oils, and is a popular item for first aid kits for various skin ailments and minor injuries.

ElectroEdge Universal Travel Adapter Worldwide

Rayban Meta Glasses - Headliner - Low bridge

Battery Case for iPhone 14 Pro, [6800mAh]

Power Bank 10000mAh

I hope this helps with your packing list.

Any questions - ask away!
